OUR STORY

We are first generation on this family farm. To bring this farm to life and achieve our personal goals, we thought it would be appropriate to chose our own family name: Aldrich Family Farm. We built fences around the soil where we dreamed to grow produce and also around the homes of our free range poultry and water fowl. Upon being asked about our intentions when starting this farm, we concluded it was to see what we could carefully grow and raise, teach our children to care for the land, and to enjoy and provided for our community through local direct selling. Along with our growing family and growing farm, our local community is at the forefront of our focus.

We have farmed for several years, growing & experimenting with a variety of animals, breeds and methods, and we have determined it appropriate to farm naturally, convinced by the results of our experiments. Our pastured flock had small beginnings through purchased chicks, ducklings, and geese, but now is a fully fledged, mature flock. We now hatch our own fowl and sell eggs, chicks, ducklings and goslings.

Our first flocks were raised and housed in our old barn, built by our grandpa, with runs outdoors into our pasture. We have since expanded from there into having separate areas for our each of our animals.

We have met encouragement, advice and instructions from family, much research, and trial/error on our journey to start and operate this farm.
